Customer case 04Calls to Dubai blocked by the provider

Correct number format on both CUCM and CUBE pointed the fault cleanly at the carrier.

  1. 1

    Situation

A customer reported they couldn't call Dubai. The usual suspects – dial plan, route patterns, gateway configuration – would normally mean a day of log collection across two systems.

  2. 2

    What the data showed

The CUCM call records showed the user had dialled the number in the proper format (000971…), and the CUBE call records showed the same calls leaving towards the provider with the correct calling and called numbers.

    Resolution

With both sides of the deployment verified as correct, the fault clearly sat upstream. That sent the ticket straight to the provider, who found a fraud-prevention restriction on their side was blocking the calls.
